Rumba Flamenco Guitar in Cochrane Alberta and on Roof Top of the Hotel Vancouver

Playing solo guitar at the Cochrane Ranch HouseRumba Flamenco Guitar in Cochrane, What a week it’s been!

I began by week flying to Calgary last Friday for a solo rumba flamenco guitar performance at the Spring is in the Art Show.

It’s the middle of April so we kind of laughed as it was snowing a lot the evening before I arrived. It was more like “Winter is still in the Air”! The picture on your right is the Cochrane Ranch House where I performed Friday and Saturday.

As a mater of fact, I had so much fun playing for everyone that I returned to the event Saturday to play solo guitar again from 11am to 3pm.My solo guitar setup on the Roof Top of the Hotel Vancouver

From there it was a rush back to the Calgary Airport to return my car.

Next I was off to Vancouver again for a solo rumba flamenco guitar performance up on the roof top of the Hotel Vancouver for an event for the University of Michigan.

My new Youtube video project

Well, last night I decided I had better jump on the YouTube Music Bandwagon.

It’s amazing now that I can go to youtube to search for any song I can possibly dream of and presto! There it is!

So like a human robot I must conform. There must be some brilliant record company marketing reason for this. (I guess) Which leads me to my latest YouTube video project…

In the next few weeks I be uploading my entire personal rumba flamenco music library for the world to listen to. Yes, every single song to every single album I’ve ever created.

Then as for the visual side of my new video collection. I’m going to create abstract video loops and images for each tune. Instead of the old album cover or band picture that I find on a lot of the videos I’ve seen posted. This should be fun!

So for everyone’s enjoyment, here’s Christopher from my cd Peace as my first video installment…

Please let me know what you think… Is this a big waiste of time?

Anyways, Here it is! Enjoy….

Playing guitar at the Capilano Suspension Bridge

Last Saturday evening I played my guitar at the Capilano Suspension Bridge for a group of US senators. This job is so awesome because I get to work with (and for) so many interesting people from all over world.

I’m having more fun now than ever before as I feel I’m finally getting my head and hands around playing this wonderful instrument. I’ve also finally worked out how to get a live nylon string guitar sound I like. That in itself has taken over 10 years to find!

Anyways, back to the gig…

The Capilano Suspension bridge is such a wonderful place to perform. It’s beautiful and peaceful. For this gig I performed with my Rumba Flamenco, Latin Jazz trio.

Here’s a link to the Capilano Suspension Bridge web site if you would like to visit there for yourself… http://www.capbridge.com/

Joining me once again on guitar was Andre Stepanian and on percussion was Lyndon Dewitt.

I arrived at 5:30pm to set up and we began at 7:20ish. The gig lasted until 10:20pm.

Once again I’ve taken my “Gig Cam” with me so you can join me behind the scenes today on the gig.

Music featured in this episode is my trio’s performance of Hotel California by the Eagles.

Playing guitar for the Canada Safeway Foundation

Once again I’ll be performing with my fiery rumba flamenco trio. This time we’ll be playing at the New Vancouver Convention Center for Canada Safeway.

The room that we’ll be performing is called the summit room on level 3 so I’ll have an escort to take me there from the parking entrance.

I always thought of Safeway as a large grocery store chain. What I was totally unaware of was that every year the Safeway Foundation raises hundreds of thousands of dollars to find a cure for prostate cancer. That makes this company a superstar in my eyes.

Here is Episode 9 of Guitar Slinger to take you behind the scenes at this great event!

Joining me on the gig was bass guitarist Brent Gubbels and percussionist Lyndon Dewitt.

This gig was a lot of fun. Firstly because we sounded really good in the venue. The Summit Room is a great sounding room!

Also it’s very rare to have couples dancing to our music on a corporate event. That was very special.
